Shitbox Rally – fighting cancer on a road trip from hell
Barossa Function Hire and Barossa Valley Hire have joined up with leading Access equipment supplier Skyjack and other hire companies across Australia to help sponsor a unique road trip in October to support the Cancer Council Australia.
The trip covers 3,800 km and travels from Melbourne through the outback right up to Townsville. All vehicles have to be worth $1,000 or less and is aptly named the Shitbox Rally.
The proceeds will be directed through the Cancer Council to help fight cancer through improved diagnosis and treatment.
We are supporting the 19ft High Club led by Jason Cranmer from Skyjack and Casey Law from Queensland Access. The team has already raised over $30,000 for the cause with more to come.
Everyone is touched by the effects of cancer and by supporting this amazing event we are playing our part in the search for better research and support for those in need.
Mark Burton is National president of the HRIA, the peak body of the Hire Industry and the support across the whole industry for this event has been awesome. Both Barossa Valley Hire and Barossa Function Hire are active participants in a wide range of local and national charity and community initiatives each year helping to improve the lives of others and to bring people together.
